Tap Water Is Cleaner Than Bottled Water

The New York Times printed an article on water filters.

My favorite quote is here:

"Water from your tap is more closely regulated for purity than any you buy in a bottle."

So why do people still think bottled water is purer? Consumer Reports has noted otherwise, as have many others.

Unfortunately, most people buy bottled water for its convenience rather than for the quality of the water they are drinking. It took me awhile to convince my educated husband to stop buying/drinking bottled water despite the fact that I bought him a nice bottle for him to refill with water every day and take to work. He would forget to bring the bottle home or complain about the 30 secs it takes him to refill it, until it became a habit for him.

The bottom line: we need to care about our trash. We need to change our way of thinking in order to be able to change our habits, which is not easy. And soon enough, all this actions like refilling our bottle with water and carrying our reusable shopping bags will becomes routine and even save us a few bucks!
